Staying Near Walking Street
The Heart of Pattaya's Nightlife
If, like many vistors to Pattaya, you intend spending a lot of time exploring the bars of Walking Street then staying nearby would allow you to avoid the nightly gridlock that builds at the main entrance and often extends well down the beach road. The downside for some will be the steady throb of bass-heavy music that carries on into the small hours though beyond around 200 metres away from the street’s perimeter the noise should be tolerable for most.
As well as allowing quick access to the heart of the nightlife, this area is also handy to the beach and other popular places during the daytime. A short distance from Walking Street’s entrance extending northwards up Beach Road can be found a collection of market stalls selling all manner of goods including lots of bargain-priced clothing, cheap electronics and souvenirs.
A little further along is the huge Royal Garden shopping and entertainment complex which has several storeys of quality shops with one being dedicated to restaurants offering a wide range of Thai and Intenational cuisine including well known names such as Sizzlers, McDonalds, Burger King and KFC.
The top floors are dedicated to the Ripley’s Believe It or Not entertainment attraction and a modern cinema multiplex that shows both the latest Thai films (often with english subtitles) and western releases (in english with thai subtitles).
About 100 metres from Walking Street's entrance is a major intersection where several different baht bus routes meet making it quite easy to get to the likes of the North Pattaya or Jomtien Beach.
